01
Not an estate plan.
BitTwelve is not a law firm, lawyer, fiduciary, executor, trustee, estate-planning service, probate service, or legal-document service. It does not create, validate, amend, or replace a will, trust, power of attorney, beneficiary designation, deed, contract, or other legal instrument, and it does not determine ownership or legal entitlement to property.
02
Not custody or financial infrastructure.
BitTwelve does not hold, manage, transmit, transfer, recover, or control money, cryptocurrency, private keys, securities, accounts, property, passwords, or authority over an estate. It is not a wallet, password manager, escrow service, money transmitter, asset-transfer service, or financial adviser.
03
Not for emergencies.
Do not use BitTwelve as an emergency communication system or as the only place for medical, safety, legal-deadline, or other time-critical instructions. The service may be unavailable, changed, discontinued, or inaccessible when needed.
04
Store directions, not credentials.
Do not enter cryptocurrency wallet seeds, private keys, passwords, authentication codes, safe combinations, identity documents, legal originals, or other secrets whose disclosure could grant access to an asset, account, or protected system. You are responsible for deciding what information you place in a recovery map.
05
No promise of availability.
Hosted storage is a convenience only. BitTwelve, Davisville Labs LLC, the domain, hosting provider, storage provider, software format, or browser compatibility may change or cease to exist. You are responsible for keeping the twelve words, the offline recovery file, and independent copies of the real recovery materials.
06
No recovery desk.
There is intentionally no identity-based password reset or recovery process. If the twelve words are lost, BitTwelve cannot reconstruct them. Anyone who obtains the words may be able to read the corresponding recovery map.
07
Experimental software, provided as is.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BitTwelve and Davisville Labs LLC provide the software and hosted service without warranties of uninterrupted availability, security, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, error-free operation, permanent storage, successful recovery, or legal effectiveness. Use is voluntary and at your own risk.
08
Limit your reliance.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Davisville Labs LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of assets, data, access, inheritance, opportunity, profits, or use arising from BitTwelve. Any limitation applies only to the extent permitted by law.
09
No professional relationship.
Using BitTwelve, reading project documentation, or contacting the project does not create an attorney-client, fiduciary, financial-adviser, executor, trustee, confidential-professional, or other professional relationship with BitTwelve or Davisville Labs LLC.
10
Support is voluntary.
Any contribution to BitTwelve is voluntary support for an open-source project. It is not payment for guaranteed storage, customer support, uptime, recovery, professional services, or any particular future feature or availability.
11
Use it lawfully.
Do not use BitTwelve to facilitate unlawful activity, threaten or harm another person, store or distribute material you have no right to use, or interfere with the service. Hosted packages may be removed or access may be suspended when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the project, or address abuse.
